Inter aren’t interested in signing Napoli full back Faouzi Ghoulam in January and are instead focusing on Matteo Darmian, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews today.

The report details how Inter coach Antonio Conte is already struggling with the injuries to Kwadwo Asamoah and has no intentions of signing another player who is injury prone. Parma’s Matteo Darmian is still the most likely arrival in January, considering the high price requested by Chelsea for Spanish left back Marcos Alonso.

Inter and Napoli are still likely to do a player exchange in January, however, the report continues. Italian forward Matteo Politano is likely to be sent down to Naples on loan in exchange for 34-year-old Spaniard Fernando Llorente, a player liked by Conte for his strong physique and aerial threat. The two parties are set to work out the terms of the swap in the upcoming January transfer window, although it’s all but guaranteed that it will simply be a loan exchange.
