Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde and director Eric Abidal will plead with club president Josep Mario Bartomeu to reconsider his stance when it comes to Arturo Vidal’s future according to a report i n today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
Bartomeu is understood to have become furious after Vidal took the club to court over unpaid bonuses and made the decision to get rid of the Chilean international, who has drawn strong links to Inter in recent weeks and months.
Valverde does not wish to lose Vidal, who remains a highly valued member of the team due to his experience and unique characteristics, despite his lack of starts this season suggesting otherwise.
Bartomeu remains tempted to get rid of the 32-year-old but will not let him go for the €12 million that Inter are believed to have offered and he will not let him go in January but rather at the end of the season instead.
As per the report, Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich is set to meet with Barcelona again on behalf of Inter and present a new offer, a loan with obligation to buy, which would total €15 million. Barcelona are however likely to continue to demand €20 million.
