Former Inter Primavera manager Stefano Vecchi has spoken on the relationship he has with former Inter academy player Nicolo Zaniolo, who is currently starring for Roma.

“We were together for a year. He has always shown that he has extraordinary physical and technical skills; everything was easy for him,” he explained in an interview with gianlucadimarzio.com.

“At times he was satisfied with just doing the minimum but part of my role was to tell him that he must always go at a thousand miles per hour.

“There were a couple of situations where I left him out to make him understand that he had to put more effort in. He always scored goals but he could do more, I always saw enormous potential in him. Every now and then we speak with each other.”

Vecchi, who is currently in charge of Sudtirol, then spoke on his relationship with former Inter manager Luciano Spalletti.

“We had a good relationship, we always spoke when on the exercise bikes or at lunch.”
