Arturo Vidal made the decision that he wishes to leave Barcelona, two months ago, at least according to a report in today’s print edition of La Repubblica.

Vidal no longer feels he is deemed as a fundamental member of the Blaugrana team and he wants to reunite with former manager Antonio Conte at Inter, who he knows will give him a more central role in the club project.

Inter and Barcelona have held some talks over the 32-year-old Chilean and the report claims that a deal should be reached.

Once a deal has been reached, Inter will then direct their attention toward signing a player capable of playing the role of back-up to club record signing Romelu Lukaku.

Inter’s primary target is Chelsea’s Olivier Giroud whilst Napoli’s Fernando Llorente is also a player that is under consideration by Nerazzurri management. Any move for Llorente is however understood to be dependent on Matteo Politano, who he would reportedly be swapped for.

Inter are also on the look out for a new left back due to Kwadwo Asamoah’s continued knee problems. Antonio Conte would like Marcos Alonso but a deal with Chelsea looks like it will be complicated, therefore Inter could try bring in Matteo Darmian.
