Inter will only make a move for Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window if Matteo Politano is to leave the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
Politano has drawn links to a whole host of clubs in recent weeks including Parma, Atalanta, Roma and Fiorentina and his exit would pave the way for Giroud to come in.
Giroud’s contract is up with Chelsea come the end of the season and they would seemingly let him go for just over €5 million. Giroud’s €8 million annual salary does however pose a problem for Inter.
Inter are far from alone in courting the veteran Frenchman, who is reportedly looking to move on from the Premier League outfit in search of more regular playing time ahead of EURO 2020.
Lyon, Marseille and Bordeaux are all also believed to be keen on the former Arsenal man, who has been limited to just seven appearances across all competitions this season.
