Juventus are interested in signing Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud in the January transfer window according to a report in the print edition of Milanese newspaper Libero.
Maurizio Sarri is on the look out for another striker and has identified the veteran Frenchman as the ideal player and the report states that Sarri’s Bianconeri face strong competition from arch-rivals Inter for the 33-year-old’s signature.
Inter have a long standing interest in Giroud as they look to find themselves a player capable of playing in the role of deputy to club record signing Romelu Lukaku.
Giroud’s contract with the Premier League club is due to expire at the end of this season and with Chelsea believed to be targeting a new striker, they are unlikely to stand in the way of the former Arsenal man, who has been at the club since January 2018.
This season Giroud has found himself slide down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and has been limited to just seven appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored one goal.
