Sporting’s sporting director Hugo Viana has appeared to rule out the possibility of Inter linked Marcos Acuna or any other players departing the club in the upcoming January transfer window.
“Sporting’s position in January will be like it normally is and just like it is in any other transfer window. By that, I mean that we will be attentive to any good opportunities that will arise that will allow us to add quality to the team and there will be no sales,” he told Brazilian newspaper A Bola.
The Argentine full back has drawn links to Inter in recent days. Inter are on the lookout for a new left back due to Kwadwo Asamoah’s continued knee cartilage problems and had initially set their sights on Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso.
However, due to Chelsea’s very high demands for the 29-year-old Spaniard, Inter are now looking at other options and Acuna is understood to be one of them.
