Inter have contacted representatives of Tottenham Hotspur’s Danish international midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.
According to the report, the Nerazzurri are looking into the possibility of signing the player on a free transfer when his contract with the Premier League outfit expires at the end of this coming June.
If Inter would want to sign the player during this transfer window, the Nerazzurri would have to pay around €20 million to Tottenham who have slapped the Dane with that pricetag. This seems unlikely at the minute given that Nerazzurri coach Antonio Conte has prioritized signing Arturo Vidal from FC Barcelona above everything else, Di Marzio reports.
Therefore, according to the report, if Inter’s efforts to sign Vidal during this month were not to materialize, only then things could change, and the Nerazzurri would then try to sign Eriksen immediately, as opposed to trying to fend off competition and sign him on a free transfer in June.
