Chelsea have no intention of dropping their €40 million demands for Inter transfer target Marcos Alonso according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The Spaniard finds himself on the fringes of Frank Lampard’s side the report suggests that Chelsea are standing firm with their demands to spite Inter manager Antonio Conte who had taken Chelsea to court last year over his severance package.

It is more or less the same scenario when it comes to Olivier Giroud, a player who has also drawn links to Inter in recent weeks and months as Conte looks to bring in a striker capable of playing back-up to Romelu Lukaku.

Giroud, like Alonso, is very much out-of-favour at the Premier League club. He has just six months left on his deal meaning he could sign a pre-contract agreement with another club. Chelsea want €10 million to let him go during the course of this transfer window.
