Flamengo want the future of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa to be decided within the next 10 days according to a report from Brazilian news outlet Globo Esporte.
The Rio de Janeiro club do not wish to waste any more time trying to bring the 23-year-old striker to the club and although not an official ultimatum, they hope that in setting a deadline of sorts it will sort things out one way or another for good or for bad.
Flamengo, as well as Gabigol and his representatives are all well aware that waiting until the end of the European transfer window on January 31 is simply just not feasible.
The recently crowned Brazilian champions are willing to sign the former Santos player to a four year contract with there being a possibility that a nice goal bonus could be included in the contract too.
Gabigol has also drawn interest from Premier League side West Ham United and it has led to other reports in the media suggesting that he is holding out to see what they or other European sides can offer him.
