Olivier Giroud is understood to now be on Aston Villa’s radar according to a report from British newspaper The Daily Star.
With Wesley recently being ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury, Villa boss Dean Smith has held talks with the club’s management with regards to getting a new striker in.
Giroud’s name is though to have been brought up in said talks and Villa become just the latest in a long line of clubs keen on signing the veteran Frenchman from Chelsea.
Inter and a whole host of French clubs are reportedly keen on adding the 33-year-old to their ranks. Giroud’s contract with Chelsea is due to expire at the end of the season but clubs may be able to acquire him in a cut-price deal during this window if they really want to.
This season Giroud has been limited to just seven appearances across all competitions. In 282 minutes, he has contributed a single goal.
