Fiorentina’s Gaetano Castrovilli is on Inter’s radar according to a report in today’s print edition of Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
After a two year loan in Serie B, Castrovilli returned to La Viola this past Summer and has broken through this season and has been one of the best performing midfielders across the league.
Inter could try and take advantage of Fiorentina’s interest in signing Matteo Politano to get closer to landing Castrovilli to help them bolster their midfield.
Politano has found playing time hard to come by and is seeking play time that he is unlikely to receive at Inter and therefore Inter are open to dealing the former Sassuolo man away.
Fiorentina had come in for Politano back in the Summer but Inter manager Antonio Conte told club management to not let Politano go. The situation has certainly changed since then and Inter want between €25-30 million for him.
Inter could well look to offer Politano as part of any deal for Castrovilli if they do not deal Politano away in another swap deal.
The Nerazzurri proposed an exchange with Roma that would have seen Leonardo Spinazzola come to Inter whilst a swap deal with Napoli involving Fernando Llorente has also been rumoured a lot in the media.
