In today’s print edition, Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have looked at the battle between Inter and arch-rivals Juventus and the differences and similarities in many situations.

Starting with the transfer market, the report highlights how Juventus won the first duel of the year as they pipped Inter to the signing of Dejan Kulusevski from Atalanta.

The report highlights Inter’s need to respond with a big signing of their own and suggest that signing Arturo Vidal would do just that. It also states that the teams both have an interest in signing Sandro Tonali and Federico Chiesa.

It goes on to state that both teams have a clear focal point. In Inter’s case, it is Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku joined in the Summer and immediately made an impact both on and off the field.

Cristiano Ronaldo is meanwhile Juventus’ key man. The Portuguese international joined Juventus to help them to win the Champions League but also to help them continue their domination of Italian football.

Both clubs also have strong captains. Samir Handanovic is Inter’s and the Slovenian is in inspired form and appears keen to break his own clean sheet record in the league of 17.

Giorgio Chiellini’s injury means Leonardo Bonucci has become the captain at Juve. The Italian centre back has been almost ever present having appeared in 23 of Juventus’ 24 games to date this season.

Finally, both clubs are set to receive boosts in the shape of injured players returning from injury. Alexis Sanchez is set to return for Inter whilst Douglas Costa will soon return for the Bianconeri.
