Negotiations between Inter and Barcelona over Arturo Vidal are at an advanced stage according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio continue to work on bringing in the reinforcements manager Antonio Conte craves and negotiations could get to the next stage following Barcelona’s Spanish Super Cup match against Atletico Madrid on Thursday.

The 32-year-old Chilean international is widely regarded as Inter’s number one transfer target for this window with Conte seemingly wanting him signed at all costs.

The report from the Milan based newspaper goes on to explain that Tottenham Hotspur’s want-away midfielder Christian Eriksen is another target of the Nerazzurri who are also working to try and bring in Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso and Napoli striker Fernando Llorente during this window.

Eriksen’s deal with Spurs is up at the end of the season therefore Inter could acquire him in a cut-price deal whilst Conte wants Alonso and Llorente brought in to provide more depth at left back and striker.
