Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor are interested in signing Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia during this transfer window according to a report from Turkish news outlet Karadeniz Gazete.

Trabzonspor have set their sights on signing the experienced centre back having been priced out of moves for Lyon’s Marcelo and Sevilla’s Martin Kjaer with both players high wage demands believed to be behind the club’s decision to direct their attention toward Ranocchia.

Ranocchia still has 18 months on his contract with Inter and is one of the longest serving players currently on the club’s books but has found playing time increasingly hard to come by in recent years which has seen him spend some time out on loan at Sampdoria and Hull City.

The 31-year-old has been limited to just two appearances across all competitions this season and has not appeared since Inter’s second Serie A game of the season away to Cagliari.
