Inter will use funds raised through the sale of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa’s to help them finance their move for top transfer target Arturo Vidal according to a report in today’s print edition of Tuttosport.

Within the next 48 hours the 23-year-old Brazilian striker will meet Flamengo for talks with regard to personal terms, which have so far proved to be an obstacle in the Rio de Janeiro based club’s attempts to sign him.

Flamengo want to bring Gabigol in on a permanent basis after a highly successful loan spell last year in which he notched 43 goals and helped the team win the Brazilian league title and Copa Libertadores. There is also understood to be some Premier League interest in him.

The report goes on to state that Inter are looking at both Christian Eriksen and Nahitan Nandez as possible alternatives to Vidal.

Eriksen’s deal with Spurs is due to expire at the end of the season and could be signed for a lot less than his true value this month as a result. As for Nandez, things could take off nearer the end of the transfer window.

The Turin newspaper’s report goes on to conclude that Inter are also working on deals to sign Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso and Sporting’s Marcos Acuna.
