Inter recorded their first win in the Serie A away at the Stadio San Paolo when defeating Napoli 3-1 thanks to a brace from Romelu Lukaku and a goal from Lautaro Martinez.

Any mistakes would have meant that bitter rivals Juve would have command and breathing space at the top of Serie A, but Romelu and Lautaro has different ideas.

Samir Handanovic – 6: Did what he needed to do but looked a bit rusty at times. No chance on the goal as his defence left him completely exposed.

Milan Skriniar – 7: Probably his best performance of the season. Has found his feet in the back three and should always play to the right of it.

Stefan de Vrij – 7,5: Majestic and elegant as usual. Makes defending look easy as well as an absolute joy to behold. Reads the game like few other players.

Alessandro Bastoni – 7: A gem of a player whose performances right now are so good that he is keeping Diego Godin out of the team. What a future he’s got.

Antonio Candreva – 6: Runs and runs until he is exhausted only to turn around and runs some more. Crossing and passing let him down but his attitude is exemplary.

Matias Vecino – 6,5: Decent performance by the ex-Fiorentina man who is a nuisance for the opposition thanks to his aerial ability, in both defence & attack.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6,5: Inter’s brains and lungs who was faultless except for 1 mistake all game which could have costed Inter a goal but the danger was averted by De Vrij.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6: Showed why Conte decided to play him in the first half, but also showed thay he lacks the ability to play at a high level consistently.

Cristiano Biraghi – 5: Unfortunately he demonstrated again why Marotta is looking for reinforcements in his position this month. Out of his league.

Lautaro Martinez – 7: Capped off another great performance with another goal when he struck like a viper to close the game off.

Romelu Lukaku – 8: The comparisons with Adriano are looking more and more true. Iron Maiden were wrong, the number of the beast is 9 and not 666. Man of the match again.

Nicolo Barella – 6: Back again after almost 2 months and in all fairness he looked a bit rusty. Booked correctly and will sit out Atalanta clash.

Stefano Sensi – 6: Finally back in action after 3 months and showed glimpses of why he was considered the best player of the league at the time of his injury.

Borja Valero – N/A: Came on in the 88th minute for Lukaku and didn’t play long enough to be able to be rated.

Antonio Conte – 7,5: Got his tactics absolutely spot on from start. In the second half he made the right changes to regain the initiative from Napoli.

Daniele Doveri – 4: Very poor performance by the referee and his team. Disallowed a perfectly good goal for Napoli as well as denying Inter a clear penalty. Kept booking players left right and centre. Awful.

Inter – 7: Great performance by the Nerazzurri to claim their first win away against Napoli in the Serie A in 23 years. Well done.
