Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has reduced his wage demands and is now edging ever closer to completing a permanent move to Flamengo according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The 23-year-old striker had previously been demanding €4 million a season but has now significantly reduced his demands as per the report.

He and Flamengo still need to reach an agreement over personal terms but his reduced demands should mean an agreement should not be too hard to come by.

Afterwards, they will hold talks with Inter. There has been an agreement in principle between the clubs since August but Inter are hopeful of getting more than the agreed €18 million for 80% of his registration rights.

Gabigol’s sale will also prove key for Inter’s move for Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal. It is now completely clear that the €12 million which Inter offered is not enough whilst Barcelona continue to demand €20 million.

Money raised through Gabigol’s sale will help Inter to raise their offer for the 32-year-old, who is widely regarded as the club’s number one transfer target.
