Former Inter defender Ivan Cordoba has admitted he had initially doubted Antonio Conte when he was appointed as Inter manager in the Summer.

“I will be honest, given his Juventus past, I doubted he could immediately fit into our world. Instead, certain results arise from both Marotta’s and his work,” the Colombian explained in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“He is a true professional. He gave his soul when he was a Juventus player and that is the same today with him doing the same now he is in charge of Inter.”

Cordoba, who spent 12 trophy filled years with the club between 2000 and 2012, then went on to conclude by discussing Inter’s chances of winning the Serie A title.

“If you play at Inter you must always fight for the best. The fear of pronouncing the word” scudetto” must not exist.”

Inter currently sit top of the table after 18 games played and although tied for points with arch-rivals Juventus, they are in first due to their superior goal difference.
