Former Lazio and Roma coach Sven-Göran Eriksson discussed who he thought would win the league title in an interview in today’s paper edition of the weekly magazine Sportweek, issued by Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Are Juve still the favourite for the league title? Yes, although Inter and the Romans are also in the running and the league has become more interesting and spectacular. With my head I say Juventus, but with my heart I say Lazio.”
Inter are currently top of the league table after 18 games, tied on points with rivals and reigning champions Juventus. Six points behind them are third place Lazio, who have a game in hand.
A victory tonight against Atalanta is crucial for the Nerazzurri, especially considering the Bianconeri are taking on Roma tomorrow night, a tough game for the Turin based club.
Lazio have recently come into the conversation as potential title challengers, due to their incredible run of form in the league. Inter beat Lazio 1-0 in the first half of the season.
