Inter are facing difficulties when trying to sign Olivier Giroud and Ashley Young from their respective Premier League clubs, Chelsea and Manchester United, due to a hard line adopted by the English clubs, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
The report details how both clubs communicated to the Nerazzurri yesterday that negotiations for both players won’t be easy this month. For Chelsea this is because they want a higher free than Inter are offering, whilst the Red Devils don’t want to lose their 34-year-old English fullback.
Young has already told his coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, that he wants to leave the English club, the report continues. Solskjaer wasn’t convinced, telling the Englishman that he is too important for the team.
Despite this, Young refused the contract extension that was offered to him earlier this week. All that can be done now is to wait until next week.
As for Giroud, the report adds, the difference is that the Blues want at least €10 million for his signature. The Frenchman has already reached an agreement with Inter, but now the Nerazzurri must find a way of securing his signature for a lower price.
