The Curva Nord has announced that they will protest the first 15 minutes of Inter’s league clash against Atalanta tonight, due to a ban on megaphones and drums, according to report from Italian media outlet FcInter1908.

Here is the full statement given by the ultras:

“Enough madness, Enough abuse!

“Once again we are victims of how the crazy application of meaningless liberal norms are killing freedom of expression in stadiums.

“After Inter v Genoa in which there wasn’t the usual mocking, as a form of respect for the gesture of the Speloncia Brigade towards our Dede before the game, someone decided to ban megaphones and drums for the game against Atalanta.

“Reason? Inappropriate use of the sound system!

“Given that inappropriate use of the audio system should not have anything to do with drums, the question is: what inappropriate use could have happened?

“No songs about territorial discrimination, no songs against black people, no songs against women, the Church, children, the Morandi Bridge, the Pope, the president, gay people, players or executives, what rule did we break?!?

“We expect our team to pay more attention to the protection of our rights and at the very least to obtain information about the violation that would have been committed in order to avoid its repetition in the future.

“Not wanting to believe that the only reason for the ban would be presumed songs against some of the press and certain that if that were the case it would be even more absurd, waiting for answers that we certainly feel we deserve, today we’ll refrain from cheering for the first 15 minutes.

“Fifteen minutes to invite the stadium and the club to reflect on how certain rules included in ‘stadium regulations’ and ‘code of ethics’ are nothing more than opportunities for testing the fans in order to eradicate their purest and most passionate soul, that of organised cheering.

“Our protest is also an invitation to the institutions of football and politics to review at least ‘the ways’ for the application of rules whose discretion disrupts the normal use of the facilities and allows the literal persecution of those who the police ‘don’t like’ even when real violations are not carried out.

“Respect for the fans, no more abuse!”
