Legendary Flamengo and Brazilian international Zico has advised Inter striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa to make a permanent switch to Flamengo over a move elsewhere.
Gabigol starred whilst out on loan at the Rio de Janeiro based club in 2019 as he netted 43 goals in 58 appearances and also notched 13 assists.
As a result, the Brazilian and South American champions wish to bring the 23-year-old in on a permanent basis but face competition from Premier League side West Ham United for his signature.
“It would be best for him to stay with Flamengo rather than go to West Ham where, with all due respect, he could not aspire to much because they are a team that will hardly win much.
“If it was Barcelona, Real Madrid or the Manchester clubs interested, this would be a different matter,” Zico explained in an interview with Brazilian news outlet Que Partidazo.
Reports in the media in recent days have stated that Gabigol will soon meet with Inter management to discuss his future.
