Manchester United full back Ashley Young is only a step away from joining Inter, according to a report from Italian media outlet FcInterNews today.

The report details how the player’s agents landed in Milan earlier today and have agreed upon a deal with the Nerazzurri. The player has accepted an 18-month contract on the same wages that he earns at the Red Devils, €6 million net per season. Inter are prepared to pay Young €3 million between now and June as well.

Young said yes to Inter after declining a new contract offer from the Manchester based club, the report highlights. The deal is now expected to be fully finalised in the next 48 hours, with all parties feeling optimistic about a successful operation. Manchester United would be happy to give him up for €1.5 million in compensation, affordable, although the Nerazzurri will still try to pay even less. Young has made 18 appearances across all competitions for Manchester United this season.
