Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has chosen to go to Inter, Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio stated on Sky Calcio Show, earlier today.

The report details how the 33-year-old Frenchman is incredibly keen to join the Nerazzurri, with the player signalling to his club, Chelsea, that they are his preferred destination.

Both Napoli and French side Lyon also tried to sign Giroud, but he has warded off their interest due to his wishes and is confident that a deal can be completed over the next few days.

The player rung Inter coach Antonio Conte, the report highlights, and told him of his desire to join the Nerazzurri as soon as possible.

Giroud has made seven appearances across all competitions for the South London club so far this season, scoring one goal in his 282 minutes on the pitch. He has struggled for playing time under coach Frank Lampard which is why he’s keen to leave the club this month.
