Inter have reached a deal with Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen, but now must reach a deal with his club, according to a report in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the player has been offered a four-year contract worth around €7.5 million net per season plus bonuses. The player and his agent, Martin Schoots, initially asked for a €10 million net salary but lowered their request in order to move the negotiations forward. Italy’s tax law known as the Growth Decree has also helped to facilitate the deal, as it provides a reduction in taxes of 50%, causing the whole deal to cost Inter €11 million per season.
The only factor still remaining is an agreement with his club, Tottenham, the report highlights. The North London club want €20 million in compensation if Eriksen is to leave this month, a figure Inter will work to lower. In the case of Arturo Vidal, Barcelona’s coach Ernesto Valverde is expected to remain as the head coach of the club, pushing Vidal to prefer a move away from the Blaugrana. Inter will meet with both Eriksen and his agent, as well as Vidal’s entourage, between Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
