Inter will face Cagliari on Tuesday in the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia, the Nerazzurri’s first cup game of the season.

Cagliari, as reported on their official website, have started preparing for Tuesday’s game, with goalkeeper Alessio Cragno returning to squad training after a long-term injury.

Italian defender Luca Ceppitelli, defender Federico Mattiello and Italian full back Fabrizio Cacciatore all underwent personalised training, putting them in doubt for the clash against Inter next week. The Sardinian club lost to AC Milan yesterday 2-0 in the league, leaving them 6th in the league table.

Inter will be hoping to compete for the cup this season, following on from last season’s disappointing loss to eventual champions Lazio in the quarterfinals.

Coach Antonio Conte failed to guide Juventus, where he spent three years in charge, to a Coppa Italia trophy, despite winning three league titles in a row. The Nerazzurri are likely to rotate the squad as much as possible in Tuesday’s game.
