Ashley Young’s move to Inter could be completed on Wednesday or Thursday this week according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Young has already agreed terms over a move to Inter on the basis of an 18 month contract with an annual salary of €3 million and all that is required now is for his current employers Manchester United to sanction his sale.

Inter have had intermediaries working on the deal since the Napoli match and remain hopeful that United will agree to just free Young, given his contract was due to expire at the end of this season with them anyway. It cannot be excluded that a nominal fee may be exchanged though.

39-time England international Young has been plying his trade with the Old Trafford club since a 2011 move from Aston Villa and has since went on to represent the club 261 times across all competitions.
