Tottenham are looking to sign Portuguese midfielder Gedson Fernandes this month to replace the outgoing midfielder Christian Eriksen, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia today.

The report details how the North London club are preparing to lose their 27-year-old Danish talisman, who has been with the club since 2013.

The club are hoping to sign 21-year-old Benfica midfielder Gedson Fernandes to replace him. Spurs have prepared an 18-month loan deal for the player, with an option to buy set at around €50-60 million in June of 2021.

The Nerazzurri are hoping that this move would help them sign Eriksen this month, the report continues. Inter have reached an agreement with the 27-year-old Dane already but now must work with Tottenham to reach an acceptable compensation fee.

The North London club want around €20 million for his signature, a figure that the Nerazzurri feel is too high. The two clubs will meet this week to continue their negotiations.
