Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has agreed personal terms with Flamengo over a permanent transfer according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 23-year-old striker has agreed to a net salary of €3.5 million, roughly €500,000 less than what he had initially been requesting, plus bonuses.

Now there is an agreement over personal terms, Flamengo and Inter can sit down to conclude a deal. The two clubs had provisionally agreed a deal worth €18 million but Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio could look to get more for the Brazilian.

Gabigol joined Inter back in the Summer of 2016 from Santos in a circa €30 million deal but looks set to depart the club having made just 10 appearances across all competitions.

He spent last year out on loan at Flamengo who he made 58 appearances for. He scored 43 goals and provided 13 assists and helped them to win the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A and Copa Libertadores.
