In an interview with Inter’s in-house channel Inter TV, Inter manager Antonio Conte reflected on his side’s performance in the 4-1 win over Cagliari.

“The team’s attitude is improving. We want to be able to play at a certain intensity throughout the match but it is clear that we need time to grow as we still cannot do it for the whole game. We have to work because when we lower our tempo, we become a little too passive.

“It is fundamental that the group of players always give 100% and I have to thank the guys who always make themselves completely available. They want to work. Lots of players who have not played for a long time put in important performances.”

In conclusion he was asked what he made of Alexis Sanchez’s return to action.

“He had to play this game to get back to feeling certain sensations. He is trying to get used to the game plan again. He has ample room for improvement but he gave good signals and played at a good level for 65 minutes. I am happy with how he performed, just as I am happy with Esposito, who came on and made a very good impact.”
