Olivier Giroud could undergo a medical with Inter this weekend ahead of a transfer from Chelsea according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

In the past few hours there has been further contact made between Inter and Chelsea over the veteran French striker, whose contract with the Premier League side is due to expire at the end of the season.

Inter have tabled the 33-year-old a two and a half year deal and have offered Chelsea a deal worth €4.5 million plus bonuses for him. As per the report, the clubs are just a step away from reaching an agreement over his transfer.

Giroud, who has been with Chelsea since January 2018, has found playing time very hard to come by this season with him having been limited to just seven appearances across all competitions.

The 2018 World Cup winner has been on the pitch for just 282 minutes this season, during which he has scored one goal.
