The chances of Arturo Vidal leaving Barcelona this month are now very low according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market Gianluca Di Marzio.
Following the sacking of Ernesto Valverde, the situation of the Chilean international midfielder has now changed. Vidal was desperate to leave for a number of reasons with one of those being his poor relationship with Valverde but with Valverde away, it looks more than likely that Vidal will be staying put at the reigning Spanish champions.
The 32-year-old, who is under contract until the end of next season. had drawn strong interest from Inter, who had seemingly seen him as their number one transfer target but the Nerazzurri now look set to complete the signing of Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen instead.
Eriksen is understood to have accepted Inter’s contract offer but it now remains to be seen if Inter will be able to bring him in this month or if they will have to wait until the Summer to welcome the Danish international on a free transfer.
