Noted Italian football journalist Paolo Condo has shared his thoughts on Inter’s continued pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur and Denmark international playmaker Christian Eriksen.
As per various reports, Eriksen has already accepted Inter’s contract offer and it now remains to be seen if Inter will be able to convince Spurs to let him go this month or if they will have to wait until the Summer.
“Eriksen is on a different level to the players available in this transfer window and also in the Summer. If Eriksen arrived in Italy he would be one of the five best players in the league,” he explained in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
“He has shown at Tottenham that he can play in many different positions and that he is indispensable. I see him as Wesley Sneijder’s heir at Inter.”
Condo also commented briefly on the proposed swap deal between Inter and Roma involving Matteo Politano and Leonardo Spinazzola, which looks close to being completed: “It is a win-win situation for both Inter and Roma.”
