Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio’s trip to London has brought Inter closer to signing both Christian Eriksen and Olivier Giroud according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter have now raised their offer for Eriksen to €15 million plus bonuses and Inter are optimistic about their chances of striking a deal with Tottenham Hotspur over the 27-year-old Danish international, whose contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

As for Giroud, Chelsea have now dropped their €10 million demands for the 33-year-old Frenchman. The Blues are now understood to want €8 million but it is still more than what Inter wish to pay for him.

Inter have already tabled a €5 million offer for the 2018 World Cup winner and it is possible that Chelsea could reduce their demands more.

As with Eriksen, Inter are optimistic about signing the former Arsenal man, who has been limited to just seven appearances across all competitions this season, in which he has scored once.
