Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has reached an agreement with Flamengo over personal terms with a permanent switch to them now edging ever closer to completion according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The 23-year-old striker spent 2019 out on loan with them and will now join them on an almost four year contract, which will expire on December 31 2024. He will earn a net salary of €4 million per season.

Gabigol had wanted to have another crack at playing in Europe but the offers that did arrive did not convince him nor Inter. He will now stay in Brazil with the aim of making it into Brazil’s squad for the 2022 World Cup.

Members of the Rio de Janeiro based club’s management are expected to be in Milan early next week to finalise a deal for him.

Their most recent offer for him was €18 million but Inter are understood to want €22 million. Inter do however appear willing to grant a small discount to the Mengao.
