New Barcelona coach Quique Setién spoke to gathered reporters at a press conference today, ahead of his first game in charge of the club. He spoke about Inter target Arturo Vidal, with Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo noted his words.

“I’ve told everyone that everyone has the same chance, I’d like everyone to think they’re earning their place every day. It’s true that some players have earned their own hierarchy that puts them in a higher position, but I want them to become heroes thanks to what they’ve done on the pitch.”

He spoke a little about his tactics.

“We attach great importance to order on the pitch. Not only Arturo Vidal, other players tend to lose position as well, we have to change that aspect. You have to have a balance, the same to attack and defend. We’re going to make it.”

Finally, Setién touched on whether Vidal has the DNA of Barcelona.

“We all know the meaning of the DNA of Barcelona, but if they want to learn and improve, they will know how to do things that even they are not aware of. Willingness to be better. If a player wants to learn and improve, you might be surprised to see what he is capable of. Everyone has their own characteristics, but you have to be willing to learn and put all your skills into it to be better.”
