Inter are looking to close the gap with Juventus regarding the strengths of their squads, with Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen another strong addition, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how Juventus have the highest wage bill in Serie A, €294 million. Inter, on the other hand, only have a wage bill of €139 million, but Eriksen’s arrival would help to close the gap a little more. Inter have offered the Danish midfielder a contract worth €7.5 million net per season plus bonuses worth €1.5 million, the exact same contract accepted by Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku last summer.

The former Manchester United forward is the highest paid player in the Nerazzurri squad, the report continues, followed by Uruguayan defender Diego Godin, who earns €5 million net per season plus €1 million in bonuses. Alexis Sanchez earns €5 million net per season, followed by Stefan De Vrij who is paid €3.8 million per season.

The biggest shock, however, is how much star striker Lautaro Martinez earns, the report highlights. The 22-year-old Argentine striker only earns €1.5 million per season, a figure that will surely rise massively in the summer after the Nerazzurri offer a new contract to the player.

Regarding the younger players in the squad, Alessandro Bastoni earns around €300 thousand per season, with Sebastiano Esposito earning about €100 thousand per season. Inter also have the highest paid coach in Italy, with Antonio Conte earning €11 million net per season, the fifth highest in Europe.
