In an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Primavera starlet Matias Fonseca has discussed his plans for international football after making it into one of the Italian youth national team squads lately.

“My father is very happy that I am getting to play with Italy. If I am happy, he is happy too. I have a great passion for the Uruguayan national team but I would choose the Italian national team over them. I feel Italian. At the moment I have no doubts. We will see what happens later on.”

He then spoke on what it felt like to make the Inter first team squad for the first time in recent weeks.

“Being called up for the first time for a Serie A match was a great feeling. I never expected it. Back in September it was only a dream to be on the bench under Antonio Conte.

“In life it takes a lot of effort, you must never give up even when things are not going in the right direction, because dreams can become reality.”
