Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen is close to joining Inter, with the two clubs continuing their negotiations over the compensation fee, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri spoke to the North London club in a conference call yesterday afternoon, again discussing the compensation fee. Tottenham weren’t interested in Inter’s offer of €15 million, instead still requesting €20 million. The situation now is offering bonuses in order to convince Spurs to give up on the Danish midfielder and allow him to leave this month.

Spurs are likely to accept Inter’s offer eventually, the report continues, as there is only two weeks left in the transfer window and if the club fail to sell the player this month, he will leave on a free transfer in the summer. The player himself wants the move to Milan, keen to link up with coach Antonio Conte. Eriksen appreciates Inter’s ambitions and goals and wants to be a part of the project at the club.
