Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi spoke to gathered reporters at a press conference today, following on from the Biancocelesti’s 5-1 win over Sampdoria. His words were noted by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

“The eleven consecutive victories in a row are a little compared to the Scudetto, like I said only a week ago, but we know it will become more and more difficult. I’m proud when they compare me to Maestrelli, a character who has made the history of Lazio. We often talk about Inzaghi, but I’d like to talk about my staff as well. I have people who have worked with me since my youth and always help me.”

The Biancocelesti coach then spoke about Lazio’s rivals in the title race, Juventus and Inter.

“What are Juventus and Inter stronger at? They’ve been two teams at the top of Italian football for some time. We must remember that four years ago we were outside of European competition. We have to grow step by step and we’re doing it.”
