Roma are thinking about taking legal action against Inter due to their actions during the negotiation process regarding the potential swap deal between Matteo Politano and Leonardo Spinazzola, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the Giallorossi believe that Inter proposed the exchange and reached an agreement with the Roman club, but then Inter CEO Beppe Marotta began to back off following the idea of an exchange on loan with a buy obligation attached. Roma wanted to do the deal for last week because they wanted Politano in time for the game against Parma in the Coppa Italia.
Roma believe that Inter used Spinazzola’s medical examinations as an excuse to further negotiate, the report continues. The Nerazzurri asked for further tests, something the Giallorossi weren’t happy with. Following this issue, the two clubs began to negotiate how the obligation would be forced – whether it would be due to appearances like the Giallorossi wanted or by a high minute count.
The deal may not be over, however, if Inter would still send Politano down to the capital on loan without the exchange, the report adds. The Milanese club could also restart negotiations from scratch regarding the exchange.
