Inter coach Antonio Conte spoke to Italian broadcaster Inter TV after the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw against Lecce earlier today.

“We had the chance to win,” he said.

“We managed to break the deadlock in a game which was starting to become difficult, but we could have done more to prevent Lecce’s equaliser. I repeat, when we slow down, we struggle. We can’t afford it.”

The 50-year-old Italian coach then touched on the differences between today’s game and the first meeting against Lecce at the start of the season.

“The great 4-0 win back in August is explained by the fact we gave everything in every moment, paying attention to detail at every moment of the game.

“But today is part of a process of growth, we have to understand that games like these must be won. Like in Florence. These are lessons we need to learn.”

The Nerazzurri are still second in the league table but are now only one point ahead of third-placed Lazio, who have a game in hand.
