Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni spoke to gathered reporters in the mixed zone today after the Nerazzurri’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Lecce, where the Italian scored his first Inter goal. His words were reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.
“Inter play every match to win, there’s no win so there’s something wrong, in the week we’ll try to figure out what,” Bastoni said.
“The goal? It was very nice, but when the three points don’t arrive there’s always a bit of bitterness.”
The 20-year-old Italian then touched on the competition for a starting spot.
“I arrived with the knowledge that I’m playing alongside at strong players. When the coach calls upon me, I always try to answer his call as best I can. As I’ve always said, I’m happy to steal secrets from my teammates.”
Bastoni made his 11th appearance of the season at the Stadio Via del Mare, coming on in the second half in place of veteran defender Diego Godin.
