Inter winger Matteo Politano only wants to join Roma despite interest from clubs in both Italy and Spain, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 26-year-old Italian forward was incredibly close to signing for the Giallorossi earlier this week, but a deal collapsed after Inter decided not to sign Leonardo Spinazzola.

Politano returned home to Milan but is still dreaming of a move to the Roman club. Inter CEO Beppe Marotta is now working to convince the player to accept a different home, the report highlights.

Napoli, Fiorentina and Sevilla all want Politano, with the Spanish club even prepared to buy him outright, the best solution for Inter. Marotta is prepared to restart negotiations with Roma regarding Politano, the report adds, if he fails to convince the 26-year-old to accept a move elsewhere.

The Giallorossi would only sign the player on loan and are unlikely to spend a lot this month considering the lack of outgoing players.
