Italian journalist Fabio Caressa expressed his doubts about the potential success of Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen at Inter when speaking on the radio show Deejay Football Club, hosted by Italian radio station Radio Deejay.

“As an Inter fan I would be happy, but I would ask myself ‘where would he play?’ He’s a pure trequartista, I’m not convinced by his ability to play mezzala. Maybe Conte will change the way he plays to include him.”

The 27-year-old Dane seems destined to join the Nerazzurri this month, with the Milanese side hoping to close the deal for the player next week.

They have offered Eriksen a contract worth €7.5 million net per season plus bonuses, which would make him the joint highest earner in the squad alongside former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku.

Eriksen has made 27 appearances across all competitions for a total of 1562 minutes so far this season for Spurs, scoring three goals and providing three assists in that time.
