Lecce coach Fabio Liverani discussed his side’s 1-1 draw against Inter earlier today in an interview with Italian broadcaster RAI.

“It is normal that our motivations are very high, we tried to give serenity by putting a third central defender to avoid physical duels with Lukaku and Lautaro. With this system we have given less space,” Liverani explained.

The Lecce coach then touched on the difference between Juventus and Inter.

“The squad is the difference,” he said.

“Inter closed a very big gap six months ago with major investments and a blank cheque to the coach who has made a huge impact. Juventus has a continuity of management choices and has been doing this for ten years.”

The Nerazzurri are currently second in the league table after 20 games, one point behind rivals and reigning champions Juventus and one point ahead of Lazio in third.

If the Biancocelesti win their game in hand then Inter could fall to third in the league table.
