Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta could directly contact Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy to hold talks over Christian Eriken according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.

Eriksen’s agent Martin Schoots is currently in talks with Spurs and is trying to get his client a move to Inter. As things stand, Inter have offered €15 million plus bonuses whilst Spurs continue to demand €20 million.

If Schoots is unable to convince Spurs to drop their demands, Marotta could take over and hold talks with Spurs. As per the Rome based newspaper, Marotta will look to take full advantage of the fact Eriksen has agreed terms with the club already both for now and for the Summer.

It goes on to add that Inter could increase the bonuses of their offer but it also cannot be excluded that Eriksen, similarly to what Olivier Giroud is understood to have done, could give up some of his wages.
