Paris Saint Germain sporting director Leonardo has spoken on the possibility of the club taking up their option to buy Mauro Icardi on a permanent basis from Inter.
The 26-year-old Italian joined the reigning French champions on a season long loan this past Summer and PSG can sign him up permanently for a sum of €70 million.
“We still have time, the option to buy him is there and we have many things to do. We must remain focused on what we are doing, even if the transfer window is currently open,” he told French news outlet Foot Mercato.
The former Inter manager then went on to discuss the idea that Icardi is having a crisis in front of goal given he has had a small goal drought in recent weeks.
“People have said Icardi is in crisis because he has not scored in three games, but please, a player who has scored 17 goals in 22 games in his first year with the club is doing something huge, honestly.”
