In an interview with French news outlet L’Equipe, former Inter goalkeeper Sebastien Frey has spoken on Inter’s pursuits of compatriot Olivier Giroud and Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen.
“Ashley Young has already signed and the negotiations to sign Olivier Giroud and Christian Eriksen are underway. Inter really want to become stronger,” he explained.
“I love Giroud. He is a very useful player. He will not be in the starting eleven but he is a luxury 12th man to have. He is an attacker who could take over from Romelu Lukaku, who is in great form, or Lautaro Martinez. It would be a great challenge for him.”
Asked about Eriksen, Frey, who spent three years on Inter’s books between 1998 and 2001, added: “If Eriksen signs for Inter, it would be a big signing. He is a great midfielder.”
During his time with the club, Frey made 47 appearances across all competitions, in which he managed to keep 14 clean sheets.
